Administrative Fellowship Program
The Main Line Health Administrative Fellowship is a 12-month, project-based leadership development program designed for recent graduate students pursuing careers in health care administration.
As part of a large, integrated community health system, fellows work closely with senior executives and operational leaders across Main Line Health to lead and support strategic initiatives that advance organizational priorities. The fellowship provides broad exposure to system-level operations while offering flexibility to tailor experiences based on professional interests, career goals, and organizational needs.

Fellows may gain exposure to areas including:
- System operations and corporate structure
- Strategic planning and organizational growth
- Quality and performance improvement
- Finance and budgeting
- Marketing and communications
- Population health initiatives
- Ambulatory and frontline operations
- Patient experience and service excellence
Fellows serve as embedded partners on enterprise initiatives while gaining visibility into executive decision-making and health system strategy.
Throughout the program, the fellows may:
- Lead and contribute to high-priority strategic and operational projects
- Partner with executive leaders across hospitals, ambulatory services and corporate departments
- Gain exposure to health system governance, executive leadership and organizational strategy
- Participate in senior leadership, operational and board-level meetings
- Develop competencies in communication, change management, analytics, financial stewardship and performance improvement
- Build professional networks through mentorship, professional associations and interdisciplinary collaboration
The fellowship is intentionally designed to provide both breadth and depth of experience while fostering leadership development in a fast-paced, collaborative health care environment.

Application Timeline: 2027–2028 Fellowship Cycle

- Mid-September 2026 – Virtual interviews
- Sept 24 & 25, 2026 – Final on-site interviews
- By October 2, 2026 – Selection announcement
- June 2027 – Fellowship start date
How do I apply?
Applications for the 2027–2028 Main Line Health Administrative Fellowship will open in early June 2026 and remain open through early September 2026.
External Applicants
All external applications must be submitted through the National Administrative Fellowship Centralized Application Service (NAFCAS). To apply:
- Visit the NAFCAS Applicant Portal
- Create or log in to your applicant account
- Search for “Main Line Health” within the NAFCAS fellowship directory
- Complete the online application and upload all required materials prior to the application deadline
Internal Applicants
All internal applicants may apply via the Main Line Health Career Taleo Application.
To be considered for the 2027 Administrative Fellowship, applicants must submit the following documents:
- Cover Letter
- CV/Resume
- Personal Statement
- Official Undergraduate and Graduate Transcripts
Transcripts must be sent directly from your registrar’s office to NAFCAS - Three Letters of Recommendation
- One academic reference
- One professional reference
- One additional reference (academic, professional, or program director)
- Additional application materials as requested
Applications must be submitted no later than September 4, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Late or incomplete applications may not be considered.
Past Fellowship Projects
Past fellows have contributed to high-impact initiatives across the health system, including:
- Coordination of the Administrative Fellowship application and selection processes
- MLHS Strategic Plan – Supported the development of Main Line Health’s strategic plan through stakeholder engagement, research and executive collaboration
- Clinically Integrated Network Development – Assisted in developing operational policies and procedures for MLHC, Main Line Health’s clinically integrated network.
- Ambulatory Surgery Center Transition – Coordinated planning, tracking and execution activities related to an ambulatory surgery center transition initiative
- Patient Experience Dashboard – Created a system-wide dashboard to track patient experience metrics and identify improvement opportunities
- Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Initiative – Supported development and implementation of Main Line Health’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strategic priorities
- Telehealth Expansion Strategy – Analyzed utilization data and recommended strategies to expand telehealth adoption across service lines
- Operational Efficiency Study – Evaluated ambulatory workflows and identified cost-saving opportunities
- Employee Engagement Survey Analysis – Synthesized employee engagement survey results and partnered with leadership teams to develop action plans
- Population Health Initiative – Assisted in designing care coordination models to improve outcomes for high-risk patient populations
