    Position:

    Registered Nurse RN – Ambulatory, Comprehensive Weight Management

    Shift:

    Day shift- Monday through Friday (8AM to 4:30PM). Fridays are virtual workdays. No holidays or weekends.

    Role Highlights:

    This ambulatory RN supports a comprehensive weight management practice through clinical coordination, patient communication, and ongoing management of provider in-basket work. Responsibilities may include medication refill requests, prior authorizations, peer-to-peer support, symptom and side-effect follow-up, patient education, and coordination of care across the multidisciplinary team. The RN helps ensure timely, safe, and compassionate support for patients throughout their treatment journey. Some of the core responsibilities include:

  • Manage patient in-basket messages, including patient calls, patient advice requests, questionnaires, and prescription refill requests.
  • Review and process paper prescriptions.
  • Handle transferred patient phone calls.
  • Complete daily temperature log documentation in TempTrak.
  • Maintain the monthly rounding list.
  • Assist Practice Manager with pharmaceutical representatives, including sample management and logging, communicating medication updates to providers, and coordinating educational lunches/dinners.
  • Educate and observe patients on self-injection techniques.
  • Assist with prior authorizations.
  • Education:

    Support rooming patients when necessary.Experience:Preferred:

    1. Experience in ambulatory nursing, outpatient specialty practice, or chronic disease management.

    2. Strong telephone triage, patient communication, and care coordination experience.

    3. Experience with medication prior authorizations, appeals, refill management, and insurance-related workflows preferred.

    4. Experience supporting patients with weight management, GLP-1’s, endocrinology, diabetes, lifestyle medicine, or other chronic condition care is a plus.Graduate of an accredited ASN or BSN nursing program.

    Licensures/Certifications:

    1. Current Pennsylvania RN license.

    2. Provider BLS (American Heart Assoc/American Red Cross) required.
