Job Title: Physician – Palliative Care Campus Lead

Campus: Paoli Hospital

Employment Type: Full-Time

Main Line Health is seeking a Palliative Care Physician to serve as the Campus Lead at Paoli Hospital, a key leadership role within our established, interdisciplinary palliative care program.

This is an inpatient-based position that combines clinical care with campus-level leadership. The Lead Physician functions as a clinical resource, team leader, and strategic partner, working closely with an experienced team of nurse practitioners, social workers, and hospice partners to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Unlike traditional lead roles, this position emphasizes collaboration, influence, and program advancement—supporting a mature team that practices with a high degree of autonomy.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

  • Provide high-quality inpatient palliative care consults at Paoli Hospital
  • Lead and participate in daily interdisciplinary team huddles, guiding care planning and consult distribution
  • Manage an individual patient panel while supporting team-based care delivery
  • Facilitate goals-of-care discussions, symptom management, and end-of-life care
  • Collaborate with hospitalists, specialists, and care teams to optimize patient outcomes and transitions, including hospice
  • Leadership & Team Support

  • Serve as the primary clinical leader and resource for the campus palliative care team
  • Act as a liaison between palliative care, hospital-based physicians, and system leadership
  • Support team development through mentorship, education, and role modeling (no co-signing of APP notes/orders required)
  • Promote efficient workflows, communication, and best practices across the team
  • Contribute to a high-functioning, collaborative team culture
  • Program Development

  • Partner with system leadership to advance the palliative care program, including future expansion into outpatient and post-acute settings
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, access, and quality of care
  • Participate in educational initiatives, including lectures and interdisciplinary learning
  • Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hospice & Palliative Medicine.
  • Eligible for a Pennsylvania medical license.
  • DEA license required.
  • Excellent communication skills and a highly collaborative approach.
