    Make an Impact!

    The Apprentice is a development role at Main Line Health, aimed at providing talent with hands-on training and experience in healthcare. This role is designed to bridge the gap between education and career by offering practical learning opportunities, skill development, and mentorship. As a Patient Care Technician, you will be working collaboratively with the Nurses within the unit you are assigned. Your care and treatment of these patients is an integral part of the Patient Experience. You would be caring for patients by assisting with their daily living activities (ADLS) such as bathing, toileting, dressing, feeding, etc., taking vital signs, Accu-Checks, Phlebotomy, EKGs, and other nursing assistant responsibilities.

  • At Main Line Health, our PCT’s work on Day, Evening, and Night Shifts. The shifts currently available are based on department needs.Candidates must be able to work both day and night shift.

    Position-Specific Benefits include:

    You are eligible for up to 120 hours of paid time off per year. We also offer a number of employee discounts to various activities, services, and vendors... And employee parking is always free!Commitment:

  • Must commit to the 8 week in-person program outlined below:
  • First 4 weeks of the program will be 5 days a week, 8 hour day shift Mon - Fri.
  • Last 4 weeks of the program will be 3 days a week, 12 hour day shift Mon-Fri.
  • Must be able to work both day and night shift. Permanent shifts will become 12 hours once you have completed the 8 weeks of training and are placed into your full-time PCT role.
  • Day shift is 7am-7pm and night shift is 7pm-7am.
  • Although candidate preferences are kept in mind, ultimately an apprentices final placement are determined based on operational needs of the system. Please make sure you can commit to ANY of the schedules outlined above permanently before applying.
  • Weekend and Holiday rotation are required.
  • Experience:

    No prior experience required.

    Exposure to healthcare settings (e.g., volunteer work, internships) is a plus.

    Education:

    High School or GED required

    Actively pursuing healthcare certifications or coursework is preferred

    Additional education may be required upon graduation of Apprenticeship Program

    Licensures/Certifications:

    Additional certification may be required upon graduation of Apprenticeship Program

    Employee Status: Regular

    Schedule: Full-time
