Make an impact on your patient’s life as a Physician Assistant, a licensed medical provider, for Thoracic Surgery. Under the supervision of an attending surgeon/physician, you would be aiding in the management of your patients in a variety of areas: outpatient, inpatient, peri-operative and intra-operative care. You would extend the services of the attending surgeon/physician by: acting as a liaison for the supervising physician, obtaining histories, performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting imaging, laboratory and other diagnostic tests, prescribing medications & therapies, performing and assisting in common bedside/office procedures, as well as assisting in the operating room.

Position:

Physician Assistant PA-C -Thoracic Surgery

Shift:

Full Time, 40 hours/week. Monday - Friday Day shift with weekend rotation

Experience:

1. 3 years' experience as a Physician Assistant required.

2. Surgical Physician Assistant experience required

3. Thoracic Surgery experience preferred

Education:

1. Bachelor’s degree required.

2. Must be a graduate of an accredited physician assistant/surgical assistant program.

Licensures/Certifications:

1. Must be Certified ( PA-C ) or new graduate who is eligible for certification by the NCCPA (National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants).

2. Active license with Pennsylvania State Board of Medical Education and Licensure.

3. Provider BLS (American Heart Assoc/American Red Cross) required.

4. ACLS certification required.

5. Additional certifications specific to specialty may be required or preferred.

7.Successful completion of the MLH credentialing process through the Medical Staff office, with temporary or permanent privileges approved.
