Medical Director, Trauma – Main Line Health

Lankenau Medical Center is seeking an accomplished, visionary Trauma Surgeon to serve as Medical Director of the Main Line Health Trauma Program at our Level II Trauma Center. This leadership role offers an exceptional opportunity to join a growing team dedicated to advancing excellence in trauma care. This is a unique opportunity to lead and shape the future of trauma care across one of the region’s most respected health systems.

The Medical Director will partner with executive and clinical leaders, including in a dyad partnership with the Chair of Surgery, to advance excellence in trauma prevention, acute care, research, and education across our hospitals and emergency network. This is a dual administrative and clinical role, offering the opportunity to provide strategic leadership while maintaining an active trauma surgery practice within Main Line Health.

The Medical Director provides clinical and strategic leadership for the growth and development of the trauma program, ensuring quality, innovation, and collaboration across a multi-hospital, community-based academic health system.

  • Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for trauma services across Main Line Health
  • Oversee clinical quality, compliance, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Ensure adherence to ACS standards and Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP) metrics
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based, high-quality care
  • Support Graduate Medical Education (GME)
  • Drive program development and growth in alignment with system goals

  • Qualifications

  • Board-certified in Surgical Critical Care
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in trauma program management
  • Expertise in ACS-MIS and Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP)
  • Proven experience practicing in a high-volume trauma setting.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with a commitment to patient-centered care
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Pennsylvania
  • Graduate Medical Education (GME) experience required
